Overview 🔗︎

This guide describes how to evaluate Pipeline as a managed service in our online environment.

Prerequisites 🔗︎

You will need:

  • A GitHub account.
  • An account and the related credentials at one of our supported cloud providers, for example, AWS or GCP. The access key must have the proper privileges to create and delete clusters. The examples in this guide assume that you are using AWS.

Steps 🔗︎

The high level steps for creating a new cluster and starting to use Pipeline are the following. Follow the links at the individual steps for more details.

  1. Sign up for online evaluation. Visit https://try.pipeline.banzai.cloud, choose GitHub for authentication, and authorize Pipeline.

If you are the member of multiple GitHub organizations, choose the GitHub organization to use after logging in.

    Select organization

  2. You can use Pipeline from the command line as well as using the web interface. If you want to use Pipeline from the command line, open a terminal and install the banzai-cli tool:

    curl https://getpipeline.sh | sh

For additional installation options, see Installing Banzai CLI.

  3. Upload a cloud provider credential to Pipeline. This credential must have a number of permissions to create and manage clusters. See the documentation for details.

  4. Create a new Kubernetes cluster on your cloud provider from Pipeline. For more details on the available options when creating clusters, see Creating clusters.

  5. Deploy some workload.
